명예가 천국까지 닿았던 웅장함의 도시이자, 보헤미아의 왕가의 중심지. 세계의 여러 위대한 도시 중에서도 가장 위대한 도시이며, 상업적으로도 부유하고 군사적으로도 강력했으며, 아름다움도 갖추고 있었고, 탑들은 다른 소도시들보다 높게 솟아있었다. 리부셰 공주와 그녀의 남편이자 프르셰미슬 왕조의 시조인 프셰미실에 의해 건립되었으며, 처음에는 흐라드차니라는 지역에 있던 석조 성이었다. 그러나 나중에 여러 지구가 추가되었고 카를 황제 집권 시기에 들어서 신(新)시가지 전역이 블타바 강 반대편에 지어졌으며, 당시 세계에서 가장 컸던 석교로 구(舊)시가지와 연결되었다. 많은 돌과 회반죽으로 만들어졌지만, 전설에 따르면 더 높은 강도를 위해 계란 수천 개가 쓰였다고 한다.

인구에서는 다양한 면을 보였다. 체코인들이 압도적으로 많기는 했지만, 상인과 무역상들 사이에서는 독일인도 많이 찾아볼 수 있었다. 독일인들은 그들만의 지구에 따로 거주했으며, 심지어는 유대인들도 프라하 안에 그들만의 작은 '소도시'를 형성하고 있었고, 기독교인들은 함부로 발을 들여놓을 수 없었다. 하느님께 영광을 돌리기 위해서 설립된 수도원들은 엠마오, 스트라호프, 클라로프에 있는 것들이 유일했으며, 석조 교회는 손에 꼽을 수 없을 정도로 흔했다. 성 비투스와 아달베르트에 봉헌된 가장 위대하고 명성있는 수도원이 곧 세워질 것이다. 50년에 가까운 시간 동안 건설되었으며 곧 완공을 앞두고 있기 때문이다. 카를 황제의 집권 아래 대학교 또한 설립되었는데, 금기서화의 사예에 대한 교육을 제공하였으며, 세계 각지에서 외국인들이 공부하러 오기도 한다. 만약 인생에서 단 하나의 도시만 방문할 수 있다면, 반드시 프라하로 달려가야 한다. 세계에서 그보다 아름다운 도시는 없으니까.

The seat of the kings of Bohemia, a city of grandness, whose glory reaches to the heavens. Amongst the great cities of the world, it is the greatest, rich in commerce and strong in arms, and endowed with beauty, the towers of which rise above other towns. Founded by Princes Libusse and Přemysl, her husband and the father of the Přemyslid Dynasty, with a castle of stone at a place called Hradčany, to which later quarters were adjoined and during the reign of Emperor Charles the whole of the New Town was built on the opposite bank of the Vltava River, with the largest stone bridge the world had ever seen connecting it to the Old Town, made of much stone and mortar, to which, according to the legend, thousands of eggs were added for greater strength.

The populations if of a diverse nature. The Czechs dominate, but many a German can be found amongst merchants and tradesmen, who live in their won quarter, and even the Jews have been granted their own "town" within Prague, into which no Christian dare step foot. To celebrate the glory of God, the One and Only, monasteries were founded at Emmaus, Strahov, and Klarov, and churches of stone are so numerous that you could not count them on two hands. The greatest and most renowned of all, consecrated to Saints Vitus and Aldabert, shall soon stand, for it has been being constructed for nearly fifty years and soon shall be completed. Under Emperor Charles a University was founded as well, which provides learning in four arts, and from many distant lands do foreigners come to study. If one was to visit only one city in life, may on make haste to Prague, for there is no more beautiful city in the world.
